Volkswagen ID.8 GTX Powertrain and key features:

The arrival of a hot version of Volkswagen’s flagship sedan has been eagerly anticipated. Sharing its dual-motor powertrain with the ID.Buzz and ID.7 Tourer, the ID.7 GTX boasts 54hp more than the standard ID.7 model. This power upgrade enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-100kph in just 5.4 seconds, delivering impressive performance for enthusiasts.

Equipped with an 86kWh battery, the ID.7 GTX supports fast charging of up to 200kW, allowing for a 10-80 percent charge in under 30 minutes. While Volkswagen has yet to confirm the exact range of the ID.7 GTX, it is expected to be slightly less than the 685km range of the ID.7 Pro S due to its focus on power and performance.

The ID.7 GTX’s chassis and dynamics have been enhanced to handle the increased power. It features a sportier steering setup and offers an optional Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) for customizable handling. The exterior design includes sporty elements such as a bespoke GTX front bumper, LED ‘arrowhead’ daytime running lights, and black gloss trim, adding to its dynamic appearance. Inside, the sedan mirrors the GTX Tourer’s interior, featuring sports seats with red stitching and GTX branding.

Although there is no current plan to introduce the ID.7 GTX sedan to the Indian market, Volkswagen has announced its PEAK EV project. This initiative aims to bring a mass-market electric vehicle to India by 2026, demonstrating the company’s commitment to expanding its EV presence globally.

With the ID.7 GTX, Volkswagen continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle performance, offering a compelling option for those seeking a sporty and dynamic electric sedan.
