Tata Curvv Exterior Design
The Tata Curvv, which is based on the Nexon, shares similarities with the compact SUV from the front. However, its profile is distinct with a longer body, sharply sloping coupe roofline, and unique squircle wheel arches. At the rear, it features a single-piece rooftop-mounted spoiler that dips in the center, mimicking the concept’s split spoiler. The tail-light stretches across the entire width of the tailgate, complemented by a chunky dual-tone bumper.
Tata Curvv Interior, Variants and Features
Tata offers the Curvv in six variants: Smart, Pure+, Creative, Creative+ S, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ A. The cabin design is carried over from the Nexon and Nexon EV, with a dual-tone burgundy and black theme. The dashboard and center console are identical, while the four-spoke steering wheel is borrowed from the Harrier and Safari.
The Curvv Coupe-SUV boasts several segment-first features, including a powered tailgate with gesture control, 18-inch alloy wheels, flush door handles, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, reclining rear seats, and ventilated front seats. Safety features include six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, ESC, disc brakes on all four wheels, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.
Tata Curvv Engine and Powertrain
Powertrain Options: The Curvv comes with three engine options:
- 120hp, 170Nm, 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.
- 118hp, 1.5-litre diesel unit.
- 125hp, 225Nm, 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine.
All engines come with a 6-speed manual as standard and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic option, making it the only mass-market diesel car in India to offer a dual-clutch auto.
Curvv Coupe-SUV Competitors:
The Curvv is based on the new ATLAS platform, supporting various body styles, petrol and diesel powertrains, and both manual and automatic options. Despite its niche body style, Tata aims for the Curvv to be a significant player in the midsize SUV segment, much like the Punch and Nexon. Competitors include the Citroen Basalt coupe-SUV, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Maruti Grand Vitara, and other similarly priced SUVs.
