Key Highlights:
- Suzuki recalls Access 125, Burgman 125, and Avenis 125 bikes.
- Recall affects bikes made between April 30 and December 3, 2022.
- Faulty high-tension cord in ignition coil causing engine issues.

- Separate recall for V-Strom 800DE due to faulty rear tyre.
Why Suzuki Bikes Recalled? Here are the reason
Suzuki identified that the high-tension cord did not meet the required specifications. This defect causes the cord to crack and break due to repeated engine vibrations. As a result, affected scooters may experience engine stalls and starting failures. Additionally, if the cracked cord is exposed to water, it can damage the vehicle’s speed sensor and throttle position sensor, leading to speed display failures or further starting issues.
The recall impacts 2,63,788 units of the Access 125, 52,578 units of the Avenis 125, and 72,025 units of the Burgman 125. Suzuki has labeled this as a precautionary recall and advises affected owners to visit their nearest service center for a free replacement of the faulty part.
In a separate issue, Suzuki has also recalled the V-Strom 800DE in India for models produced between May 5, 2023, and April 23, 2024. This international recall involves up to 67 units in India, addressing a problem with the rear tyre. The tyre may develop cracks or deformations in the tread, which could lead to parts of the tread separating from the tyre structure, potentially affecting the bike’s performance. Affected V-Strom 800DE bikes will receive a new rear tyre.
