Royal Enfield has expanded its celebrated 650cc lineup with the introduction of the Royal Enfield Bear 650—a scrambler-styled motorcycle that combines off-road capability with distinctive design and robust performance. Based on the same platform as the Interceptor 650, the Bear 650 features several significant upgrades that not only give it a unique identity but also enhance its appeal to adventure-seeking riders.

Royal Enfield Bear 650 : Engine and Performance
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 uses the same 648cc parallel-twin engine as other 650 models, yet it stands out with an updated exhaust system, resulting in the highest torque among the 650cc series. The bike’s new two-into-one exhaust system, which features a single pipe on the right side, increases the torque from 52Nm to an impressive 56.5Nm at 5150rpm. This configuration enhances low-end power, making the Bear 650 more versatile for both on-road and light off-road use. Peak power remains steady at 47hp, ensuring that the Bear maintains its thrilling acceleration and strong highway performance.
Royal Enfield Bear 650 Suspension,Wheels and Brakes
Key upgrades include a new suspension system and altered wheel sizes that define the Bear’s scrambler persona. Moving from an 18-inch front and rear wheel setup to a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear setup, the bike aligns with classic scrambler styling, providing greater control on varied terrains. The front suspension has been revamped with a Showa USD fork, similar to the one on the Shotgun model, but with internals specifically tuned for the Bear 650.
The rear suspension has also been upgraded with dual shock absorbers, enhancing the overall handling and stability. Suspension travel has increased from 110mm and 88mm on the Interceptor to 130mm and 115mm on the Bear, raising the seat height to 830mm—the highest among Royal Enfield’s 650cc lineup.
Another standout feature of the Bear 650 is its braking system. While the front brake retains the 320mm disc from the Interceptor, the rear brake has been enhanced to a 270mm disc for improved stopping power. Dual-channel ABS comes standard, with an option to deactivate it on the rear wheel, giving riders more control when venturing off-road.

Design-wise, the Bear 650 maintains a rugged, adventurous look with its new scrambler seat, high-clearance ground stance, and MRF Nylorex block-pattern tires, which are exclusively fitted to spoked wheels. The bike also debuts a circular TFT display, adopted from models like the Guerrilla and Himalayan, which includes Google Maps support and is operated via the updated switchgear. Adding to its scrambler allure, the Bear 650’s side panels are adorned with competition number boards, emphasizing its sportiness.
