Renault’s budget brand, Dacia, has unveiled its biggest SUV yet, the Bigster, ahead of its global debut at the Paris Motor Show (starting October 17). The Bigster is based on the Renault Duster, but it’s significantly larger and is expected to debut in India with a 7-seater configuration, challenging competitors like Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, and Mahindra XUV700.

Duster Bigster Dacia Dimensions and Exterior Design

The Dacia Bigster stands out with its substantial dimensions. It is 4.57 metres long, 1.81 metres wide, and 1.71 metres high, with a 2.7-metre wheelbase, making it 230mm longer and 43mm more in wheelbase compared to the Duster. The Bigster’s design includes a gloss black grille, high bonnet, Y-shaped LED headlights and taillights, and thick body cladding. Its 220mm ground clearance and dual-tone alloy wheels (17-19 inches) further amplify its adventurous aesthetic.

Renault Bigster Dacia Interior Features

Although initially speculated to be a 7-seater, the Bigster revealed is a 5-seater with a massive 667-litre boot. The interiors are reminiscent of the Duster, featuring a 7- or 10-inch digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, and premium features like ADAS, a powered tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, and wireless charging.

Renault Bigster Dacia Powertrain Options

The Bigster will be available with strong hybrid, mild-hybrid petrol, and LPG powertrain options. The hybrid model pairs a 107hp petrol engine with 50hp from two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery, delivering a combined output of 155hp. Meanwhile, the mild-hybrid version features a 140hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with a 48V system, offering AWD drive modes like Snow, Off-Road, and Hill Descent Control. The LPG variant can cover an impressive 1,450km between refills.

Renault Bigster Dacia India Launch

The Renault Bigster Dacia is expected to arrive in India about six months after the Renault Duster relaunches, likely in the second half of 2025. Renault is expected to introduce a 7-seater version of the Bigster to cater to the Indian market. Additionally, sister brand Nissan will also launch a version of the Bigster for India.
