Passenger Vehicle Exports in 2024 Increased by 19%: Maruti Suzuki Leads the Charge

Passenger vehicle exports in 2024 experienced a significant rise of 19 percent, totaling 1,80,483 units this year, compared to 1,52,156 units in the same period last year. Maruti Suzuki India led the market with 69,962 units exported, marking an increase from 62,857 units in the same period last year. Hyundai Motor India followed closely, exporting 42,600 units, which is an increase from 35,100 units in the previous year.

The two-wheeler market also saw robust growth. Exports increased by 17 percent, with 9,23,148 units shipped overseas in the first quarter, compared to 7,91,316 units in the same quarter last year. This growth reflects the increasing demand for two-wheelers in global markets.

Commercial vehicle exports also saw a positive trend, rising by 8 percent. A total of 15,741 units were exported, up from 14,625 units last year. This growth indicates a steady demand for commercial vehicles internationally.

However, the three-wheeler segment did not fare as well. Exports declined by 3 percent, with 71,281 units shipped, compared to 73,360 units in the same period last year. Despite this decline, the overall export market for vehicles shows a strong upward trend.
