Nissan X-Trail SUV Engine and Powertrain
The Nissan X-Trail SUV is equipped with a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, producing 163hp and 300Nm. The engine includes a 12V mild-hybrid system and is paired with a shift-by-wire CVT automatic gearbox, which minimizes the rubberband effect for smoother performance. Nissan’s variable compression technology optimizes either performance or fuel efficiency, depending on driving conditions.
Nissan X-Trail SUV Features
In terms of features, the X-Trail offers a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and a wireless smartphone charger. Other conveniences include keyless entry and go, drive modes, an electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and cruise control. The SUV comfortably seats seven, with the second row offering 40/20/40 split-folding, sliding, and reclining functions, while the third row provides 50/50 split-folding and reclining options.
Safety features are comprehensive, including seven airbags, automatic wipers, ABS with EBD, traction control, a limited-slip differential, hill-start assist, and front parking sensors.
Nissan X-Trail SUV Rivals
The Nissan X-Trail SUV competes with other premium 7-seater SUVs such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and MG Gloster. While the Jeep Meridian and MG Gloster are due for facelifts later this year, the Skoda Kodiaq will see a generational update in 2025.
