New Audi Q6 and SQ6 etron: The Powerful EV based on PPE

Audi revealed the Q6 and SQ6 E-tron tonight and ready to sets standards in terms of performance, range, charging, driving dynamics and design.

Audi made the Q6 series based on the Premium Platform Electric(PPE) jointly developed with Porsche and currently used in new Porsche Macan Electric. The Q6 series shows the promise of Audi to get completely electric by 2027.

“Built on the new PPE platform, the Audi Q6 e-tron1 is the next technological leap in premium electric mobility for our customers,” said Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, at the world premiere at the main plant in Ingolstadt.

 “The PPE shows how we are pooling expertise within the Volkswagen Group and thus making electric mobility scalable. Thanks to the PPE, we are able to launch high-volume models with high technical standards in different segments and thus further electrify our portfolio,” the Audi CEO added.

Q6 e-tron Exterior Design:

The Q6 e-tron is strategically positioned in the premium mid-size segment. The size measured in length 4771 mm , a width 1993 mm and 1648 mm which is nearly same as Q5 . The wheelbase is 2899 mm which give enough leg room for the passenger at the rear seat. Audi suffice all the requirement of the SUV.

Audi has introduced world first active digital light signature, the electric SUV is ushering in a new era characterized by design and aesthetics that are unique to Audi. OLED panels with a total of 360 segments makes a new image every 10 milliseconds(ms) using a specially developed algorithm.

At the front, the active digital light signature interacted by the algorithm with twelve segments that dim up and down. At the rear, all digital OLED segments are used for this purpose.

The front grille different from other Audis its trapezoidal but is larged sealed-off , though the air flow being managed from below bumper area which has an angular and sharp edges. These elements will differ variants to variants.

The headlights and DRL ae separate units unlike Q4 and Q8 etrons. The DRL occupy a larger area then headlight. The headlight comes on top and look quite cool with different signature owner can select.

Q6 e-tron Interior Design:

 

The Audi Q6 e-tron combines Audi’s iconic design with innovative technology, setting new standards for automotive interiors. Featuring a sleek single curved panel housing an 11.9-inch instrument panel screen and a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, the Q6 e-tron offers a modern and luxurious driving experience.

One of its standout features is the passenger touchscreen, a first for Audi vehicles, allowing passengers to enjoy videos without obstructing the driver’s view. The vehicle also boasts a heads-up display with augmented reality features and an enhanced Audi assistant with advanced voice commands.

Built on the new E3 1.2 architecture based on the Android operating system, the Audi Q6 e-tron offers seamless integration of Android Auto and deep integration of Apple CarPlay. The system includes AI elements that continue to evolve, offering personalized suggestions such as adjusting the temperature or using the cooled seats.

The Audi Q6 e-tron features a redesigned steering wheel with touch surfaces replacing traditional buttons. The HVAC controls are embedded in the touchscreen, while the familiar Audi media control dial remains. The vehicle offers impressive rear seat space and a generous 526 litres of boot space, with an additional 64-litre front trunk (frunk).

Q6 e-tron Performance and Powertrain:

 

In terms of performance, the Audi Q6 e-tron will be available in two all-wheel-drive (Quattro) versions: the standard Q6 and the sportier SQ6. The SQ6 delivers an impressive 517hp, accelerates from 0-100kph in just 4.3 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 230kph. The Q6 offers 387hp, a 0-100kph time of 5.9 seconds, and a top speed of 210kph.

Both models come equipped with a 100kWh battery, offering a claimed WLTP range of 625km for the Q6 and 598km for the SQ6. The 100kWh battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 21 minutes using a high-speed charger.
