MG Windsor EV Exterior Design
The MG Windsor EV stands out with its minimalist design, resembling a larger hatchback with MPV characteristics. It accommodates five passengers in two rows, offering ample space for a comfortable ride. The Windsor features sleek flush door handles, clean surfaces, and striking full-width LED light bars on the front and rear. The 18-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels add a stylish touch to its overall design.
The Windsor also showcases a large panoramic glasshouse, chrome accents along the windows, door sills, and bumpers, giving it a premium look. The front-end design is unique with the headlamps mounted on the bumper, enhancing its modern aesthetics.
MG Windsor EV Interior and Features
Inside, the MG Windsor continues its minimalist theme, featuring a black interior with copper accents. The dashboard houses a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster. The front seats offer a 135-degree recline for an “aero lounge” experience.
Additional features include wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, a 9-speaker Infinity sound system, ambient lighting, and a panoramic glass roof. For the Indian model, MG has retained physical buttons for the HVAC controls, providing easier access compared to overseas models.
Safety and Convenience
MG ensures top-notch safety with six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, ESC, all four disk brakes, and a 360-degree camera. The Windsor also comes with rear AC vents, a powered driver’s seat, and a flat floor design that optimizes interior space.
MG Windsor EV Battery and Performance
The Windsor is equipped with a 38kWh LFP battery offering a range of 331 km on a single charge. Its electric motor, mounted on the front axle, generates 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque. The vehicle supports four driving modes: Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport, allowing drivers to choose their preferred mode based on driving conditions.
The Windsor is compatible with fast charging at 45kW, which charges the battery from 0 to 80 percent in just 55 minutes. It also comes with 3.3kW and 7.7kW AC chargers, taking around 14 hours and 6.5 hours to fully charge, respectively.
Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS)
One of the standout features of the MG Windsor EV is the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model. This system allows buyers to rent the battery, significantly lowering the vehicle’s initial cost. Buyers pay Rs 3.5 per kilometer driven, making it an economical option for those concerned about upfront expenses.
MG is also offering free public charging for the first year and a lifetime warranty for the battery with unlimited kilometers for first-time buyers, ensuring peace of mind for EV enthusiasts.
MG Windsor Trims and Colors
The Windsor EV will be available in three trims: Excite, Exclusive, and Essence, and four color options: Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green.
