The Mahindra Thar Roxx 4×4 is powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine that produces 175hp and 370Nm of torque. For the 4×2 variants, a detuned version of the same engine is used, delivering 152hp and 330Nm. The Thar Roxx’s diesel engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Mahindra has also equipped the SUV with its advanced ‘4XPLOR System’, which includes off-road terrain modes like Snow, Sand, and Mud.
Advanced Off-Road Features
The Thar Roxx 4×4 boasts two unique off-road features: ‘Smart Crawl’ and ‘Intelliturn’. ‘Smart Crawl’ acts as an off-road cruise control system, allowing the vehicle to move at low speeds between 2.5kph and 30kph without driver input. ‘Intelliturn’, on the other hand, locks the inner rear wheel during sharp turns, improving agility in tight spots. This feature can be activated at speeds below 15kph for up to 15 seconds.
