Mahindra BE.05: A Closer Look at the Interior Design
The latest spy shots indicate that the Mahindra BE.05 will retain much of the design language from the concept unveiled in 2022. The test model features a unique flat top-and-bottom two-spoke steering wheel, complete with an illuminated ‘BE’ logo, reminiscent of the Tata Curvv. A standout feature is the large digital screen that seamlessly combines the infotainment display and instrument cluster into a single unit, a design approach similar to Mahindra’s XUV700.
Mahindra BE.05 :Exterior Design Elements
The exterior of the BE.05 is equally intriguing. The spy shots reveal large C-shaped headlamps at the front, though partially camouflaged, as well as matching C-shaped LED tail lamps. Interestingly, the main headlamp is housed in a separate unit and uses halogen lights in the test model. The vehicle also boasts aero-optimized wheels, designed to enhance efficiency, along with flush-type door handles that contribute to a sleek and modern look.
BE.05 Powertrain, Battery, and Range
Although specific technical details remain under wraps, Mahindra has hinted at the BE.05’s impressive capabilities. The EV will likely be built on Mahindra’s INGLO platform, which supports battery sizes ranging from 60-80kWh. These batteries will allow fast charging of up to 175kW, capable of charging the battery to 80 percent in under 30 minutes, depending on the model. The 80kWh battery variant is expected to deliver a range of approximately 435-450 kilometers under the WLTP cycle. While a rear-wheel drive setup may come standard, there is speculation about an available dual-motor all-wheel drive variant.
Mahindra BE.05 :Expected Launch and Market Position
The Mahindra BE.05 is set to launch by October 2025 and is poised to sit above the XUV400 in Mahindra’s EV lineup. Positioned as a direct competitor to the Tata Curvv EV and the upcoming MG Windsor EV, the BE.05 will likely capture the attention of EV enthusiasts and potential buyers looking for a blend of advanced technology, modern design, and robust performance.
