Ducati unveiled the Monster Senna in the tribute of legendary F1 Aryton Senna on his 30th death anniversary.
Formula 1 legend and iconic sports figure, Ayrton Senna, was an early owner of the Ducati Monster 900 when it debuted in 1993. Marking the 30th anniversary of his passing, Ducati has globally launched the limited edition ‘Senna Monster,’ with only 341 units to be manufactured. The number ‘3’ represents his F1 World Titles, while ’41’ signifies his number of F1 race wins.
Ducati Monster Senna Colour Options;
The Ducati Monster Senna features a striking new color scheme inspired by the Brazilian national flag and Senna’s race helmets, with yellow, green, and blue accents. Yellow highlights adorn the wheel tags, belly pan, and brake calipers, while the seat is finished in blue with green accents throughout. Each Monster Senna will bear a numbered plaque on the handlebar, ‘Senna’ logos, and the phrase ‘Racing is in my blood’ at the rear. Buyers will also receive a specialized motorcycle cover with the Monster Senna.
Ducati Monster Senna Engine and other Features:
Weighing approximately 4 kg less than the standard Monster, the Monster Senna boasts top-tier components including an adjustable Ohlins steering damper, forged aluminum wheels, and carbon fiber mudguards and engine guards. The footpegs are crafted from billeted aluminum, and both the front and rear Ohlins suspensions are fully adjustable. The Monster Senna retains the 937 cc L-Twin liquid-cooled engine, producing 110 bhp at 9,250 rpm and a peak torque of 93 Nm at 6,500 rpm.
This is not the first time Ducati has paid homage to Ayrton Senna with a motorcycle. In 1994, the company launched a limited edition ‘Senna 916,’ which sold out immediately. The motorcycle was reissued in 1997 and 1998, with all units quickly sold. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Senna’s passing, Ducati introduced the Panigale 1199 S Senna, with only 161 models produced.
The Ducati Senna Monster is priced at $25,000 in the USA, which roughly converts to nearly Rs. 21 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. A small number of the 341 units may be allocated to the Indian market.
