Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut; World Fastest Car

Back in May 2023, the Rimac Nevera, an all-electric hypercar with 1,888bhp, set a new 0-400-0kph record at 29.93 seconds. This achievement dethroned the hybrid Koenigsegg Regera. However, Koenigsegg was determined to reclaim its title. Later that year, the Regera was brought back and managed to complete the sprint in 28.81 seconds, regaining the record temporarily.

But now, the Jesko Absolut has taken the crown with its astonishing performance. Not only did it achieve the 0-400-0kph record, but it also set three additional world records. The hypercar, powered by a 1,578bhp engine, accomplished 0-400kph in 18.82 seconds, 0-250-0mph in 28.27 seconds, and 0-250mph in 19.20 seconds.

The Jesko Absolut was driven by Koenigsegg test driver Markus Lundh in the early hours of June 27. The conditions were perfect, with optimal wind speeds and temperatures at 5am, ensuring the best performance. The car was equipped with a roll cage, a driver’s seat from a One:1, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 R tyres, and E85 fuel. Despite the recent fire incident with a Jesko in Greece, Koenigsegg’s investigation concluded that a hydraulic hose leak was the cause, and they ensured all safety measures were in place for this record attempt.

Christian von Koenigsegg mentioned that they are preparing for a 310mph+ top speed run, which promises to push the boundaries of hypercar performance even further.
