Kia’s Anticipated Clavis SUV Spy shot leaked: The Future of Compact SUV

Kia Clavis spy shots leaked from South Korea and expected to be launched by end of 2024.

In a riveting development, Kia’s upcoming compact SUV, the Clavis, has made its debut appearance on the streets of Korea. Positioned strategically between the Sonet and the Seltos, this SUV is set to redefine the compact SUV landscape with its unique and upright design.

Clavis Set to Redefine Compact SUV Segment:

The Clavis, internally known as the Kia AY, has been caught in spy shots showcasing a compact SUV footprint with distinctive upright aesthetics. Anticipated to hit the Indian market next year, the vehicle is expected to offer a range of powertrain options, providing consumers with versatile choices.

Spy Shots Unveil Striking Design Elements:

Cloaked in camouflage, the Clavis reveals a large glasshouse and slab-sided doors, reminiscent of its larger and more youthful counterpart, the Soul crossover. Notably, the test mule spotted in India sports MRF tyres, indicating its roots in the country. While the overall silhouette echoes the Kia Soul, a closer inspection reveals a fusion of design elements from newer Kia models.

Design Highlights and Features:

The Clavis boasts vertically positioned headlamps with a distinct daytime running lamp signature, resembling a jewel-like effect in their reflectors. The rear design draws inspiration from the larger Kia EV9 SUV, featuring vertically positioned tail-lamps connected by a horizontal light bar. Loaded with features, the spy shots hint at cooled seats, a 360-degree camera setup, a panoramic sunroof, front and rear parking sensors, and more. Safety is a priority, with expected features such as six airbags, four-wheel disc brakes, and the possibility of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in higher variants.

Global Debut and Production Plans:

Insider sources suggest that the made-for-India Kia Clavis is slated for a global debut by the end of 2024, with sales commencing in early 2025. The SUV is expected to offer multiple front-wheel-drive (FWD) powertrain options, including Internal Combustion Engine (ICE), Electric Vehicle (EV), and hybrid variants. Production plans indicate Kia’s ambition to manufacture nearly 1 lakh units annually, with 80 percent of the volume attributed to the ICE range. A portion of this production is earmarked for exports, underlining Kia’s global strategy.

The Countdown to Innovation:

As the Kia Clavis prepares to make its mark on the global stage, automotive enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting its arrival, heralding a new era of advanced features and powertrain options in the compact SUV segment. Stay tuned for more updates as Kia revolutionizes the driving experience with the Clavis.
