The teased Kia EV3 will be production-spec model.
The Kia EV3 was first revealed as a concept car last year at Los Angeles Auto Show. Now the South Korean automaker has teased the production version of zero emission offering. The crossover EV3 will be 3rd electric car model after the EV6 and top-ranged EV9 all based on E-GMP BEV line-up.
As the crossover EV3 was first revealed in the United States it may go on sale there first(no confirmation yet) and if it is launched at United States it may be price around $32,000 which is quite affordable as EV6 is priced at $42,000 and EV at $46,000.
At the time of unveiling the EV3 concept, the Kia stated that the production EV3 model styling will be like the concept. The teased images also show the boxy front and rear design with star map-design lighting same as EV3 Concept. The EV3 design might be inspired the EV9. The standard car bits like door handles, practical side mirrors and altered wheel design may be difference between the 2 version.
Kia EV3 Expected Interior:
The interior may be teased by next week but as the concept EV3 believe will be simple and few additions may be done as few control knobs and general switchgears.
Kia EV3 Powertrain and Battery pack:
Kia EV3 will be based EV6 and EV9 models, Hyundai Motor Group’s E-GMP platform. As EV3 is aimed at the affordable then it seems not to have 800V architecture of the other 2 model. Instead, it will more affordable 400V set-up and will downsize the longer charging time. Kia EV6 has a claimed range of 708 Km and EV9 435 Km. The Kia EV3 may be range between 500 Km.
The EV3 will place between and the Niro EV in Kia’s BEV line-up, and could also be a replacement for the Soul EV.
On the 23rd May the Kia EV3 will be revealed and more question will be answered.
