Hyundai Genesis Electric Concept SUV revealed: The Futuristic SUV

Hyundai Genesis teased electric concept SUV will compete with Maybach GLS.

Hyundai’s luxury brand, Genesis, has unveiled the Genesis Neolun SUV concept, set to make its public debut at this year’s New York Auto Show. This concept is expected to serve as the foundation for a future three-row luxury SUV, potentially competing with the Mercedes-Maybach GLS.

Inspired by Korea’s iconic moon-shaped porcelain jars, the Genesis Neolun SUV concept embodies a boxy yet stylish design, featuring the brand’s signature “two lines” lighting motif both at the front and rear. Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke described the concept as a fusion of heritage and modernity.

The exterior of the SUV concept boasts a striking Midnight Black and Majestic Blue two-tone paint scheme, while the interior exudes luxury with Royal Indigo leather upholstery accented by white piping. Inside, the Neolun SUV concept offers captain’s seats and a host of premium amenities, including an all-heated floor.

Highlighting its commitment to an exceptional audio experience, the SUV concept comes equipped with a special sound system featuring an advanced “sound architecture,” providing a concert hall-like audio experience. Additionally, the concept includes a crystal sphere that rotates in sync with the audio system, reminiscent of the GV60 SUV.

While the concept features two rows of seats, it is designed as a full-size vehicle capable of accommodating three rows. Genesis may offer the SUV in two configurations at launch: one with two luxurious rows and another with three rows of seats. More details regarding the final design, powertrain options, and launch timeline are expected to be revealed soon.

It’s important to note that currently, Genesis does not officially sell its models in India. However, there are a few Genesis cars and SUVs in the country, which have been privately imported.
