Nissan X-Trail to be available only in petrol engine.
Nissan has revealed the much-anticipated fourth-generation Nissan X-Trail for India, set to launch in the coming days. This new addition will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and will be available in limited numbers. The introduction of the X-Trail will double Nissan India’s current lineup, which presently features only the Magnite compact SUV.

Nissan X-Trail Design and Colors
The fourth-gen X-Trail is built on the CMF-C platform and will be available in a three-row, seven-seater version in India. It boasts a modern design with a split-headlamp setup, ‘V-Motion’ dark chrome grille, and wraparound LED tail lamps. The SUV will come in three premium colors: Diamond Black, Champagne Silver, and Solid White, chosen to emphasize its luxurious appeal.
Dimensions and Specifications
The X-Trail measures 4,680mm in length, 1,840mm in width, and 1,725mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,705mm. It has a 5.5m turning radius and 210mm of ground clearance, equipped with 255/45 R20 tyres.

Inside, the X-Trail offers a host of advanced features:

The second-row seats offer 40/20/40 split-folding, sliding, and reclining functions, while the third row features 50/50 split-folding and reclining functions.
Nissan X-Trail Engine and Powertrain
The India-spec X-Trail is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with a variable compression ratio and a 12V mild-hybrid system. This engine produces 163hp and 300Nm of torque and is paired with a shift-by-wire CVT automatic gearbox, ensuring smooth and efficient performance.
Nissan X-Trail Price and Competition
As a CBU, the X-Trail’s price is expected to range between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 45 lakh. This positions it competitively against the Toyota Fortuner (Rs 33.43 lakh-51.44 lakh), Skoda Kodiaq (Rs 39.99 lakh), MG Gloster (Rs 38.80 lakh-43.16 lakh), and Jeep Meridian (Rs 29.49 lakh-39.83 lakh).
Nissan aims to use the X-Trail to maintain consumer interest in the brand as it prepares for a significant product launch spree starting in 2025.
