Overview of Citroen C3 Automatic Variants and Features
Citroen has introduced four variants of the C3 automatic: Shine (Rs 10 lakh), Shine Vibe Pack (Rs 10.12 lakh), Shine Dual Tone (Rs 10.15 lakh), and Shine Dual Tone Vibe Pack (Rs 10.27 lakh). As expected, the Shine Dual Tone models come with a stylish two-tone exterior, while the Vibe Pack adds some unique cosmetic touches to the car. The automatic version costs around Rs 85,000 more than its manual counterparts.
The C3 automatic retains most of the features found in the manual version, including LED projector headlamps, electrically adjustable mirrors with turn indicators, automatic climate control, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 10.2-inch infotainment touchscreen. It also has enhanced safety with six airbags and includes connected car tech through the MyCitroen Connect smartphone app, ensuring seamless integration between the car and user.
Engine and Transmission
The Citroen C3 automatic shares its 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine with the Citroen Basalt and C3 Aircross, delivering a robust 110hp. This engine is paired with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, which offers a more refined driving experience than the 5-speed AMT transmissions seen in its rivals, such as the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter.
Citroen C3 Automatic Price and Rivals
In terms of pricing, the C3 automatic is positioned above the Tata Punch (Rs 7.60 lakh to Rs 10 lakh) but remains competitive when compared to the Hyundai Exter (Rs 8.23 lakh to Rs 10.43 lakh). It’s worth noting that while Tata and Hyundai models feature a 5-speed AMT, the Citroen C3’s torque converter automatic provides smoother gear shifts and improved overall performance.
Autodude India Thought
With its powerful engine, sophisticated automatic transmission, and comprehensive feature set, the Citroen C3 automatic stands out as a premium option in the hatchback segment. The slight price premium over its manual variants is justified by the added convenience of an automatic transmission and the availability of connected car technology.
