Petrol and Diesel price drop

In a significant move, the Centre has announced a reduction in petrol and diesel prices by ₹2 per liter. The decision was communicated by Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, earlier today. The revised prices will come into effect from March 15, 6 am.

New Delhi is down to Rs 94.72. In the country’s financial capital, Mumbai, the new price for a litre of petrol is Rs 104.21.

This announcement comes just weeks ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, adding a new dimension to the political landscape. Minister Puri praised Prime Minister Modi for his commitment to the welfare and convenience of millions of Indians. “By reducing the prices of petrol and diesel by ₹2, the country’s illustrious Prime Minister Modi has once again proved that the welfare and convenience of his family of crores of Indians is always his goal,” the minister stated.

The reduction in fuel prices is expected to provide relief to consumers facing the burden of high fuel costs. This move could also have a significant impact on the political narrative as the election season approaches.
