Hyundai Inster has officially teased its upcoming fully-electric vehicle, the Inster, ahead of its global debut at the Busan Motor Show in South Korea later this month. This new model is set to be Hyundai’s entry-level EV and promises an impressive range of 315 kilometers on a full charge.
Hyundai Inster;A Longer Wheelbase and Unique Design
The Inster is designed as an electric alternative to the popular Hyundai Casper. While it shares some design cues with the Casper, the Inster boasts a longer wheelbase and distinct design differences. The teaser images reveal the Inster’s new Pixel lighting setup, similar to what is seen on the Ioniq 5 in India and other recent Hyundai EVs globally.
One of the standout features from the teaser is the round headlamp setup retained from the Casper, but with tweaks that include circular LED daytime running lights (DRLs). Additionally, the Inster will feature a fully digital driver’s display and other unique design elements that are yet to be detailed.
Hyundai Inster;Impressive Range and Anticipation for Specifications
Hyundai has confirmed that the Inster will offer a range of 315 kilometers on a single charge, which is comparable to the Tata Tiago EV’s ARAI-certified range in India. However, specific details about the EV powertrain and other technical specifications have not been released yet.
Global Launch Timeline
The Inster will make its first public appearance at the Busan International Motor Show 2024 in Korea, scheduled from June 27 to July 7. Following its debut in South Korea, the e-SUV is expected to launch in Europe.
Future Plans for India
As for the Indian market, it remains uncertain whether the Hyundai Inster or the electric Casper will be introduced. What is clear is that Hyundai Motor India is gearing up to start production of its first locally produced zero-emissions model, the Creta EV, by the end of 2024 at its Chennai manufacturing plant. Hyundai has ambitious plans to launch another five EVs in India by 2030, covering various segments and body styles, including SUVs, sedans, and compact utility vehicles (CUVs).
These upcoming battery electric vehicles (BEVs) from Hyundai Motor India will cater to both the mass market and the mass premium market, offering a diverse range of options for Indian consumers.
