BMW X3 LWB (Long Wheelbase) model unvieled in China, marking the first long-wheelbase version of the X3. This model, produced and sold exclusively in China, is available in two variants: the 25L xDrive and the 30L xDrive. This move follows the trend set by the 5 Series LWB, which debuted in China before being launched in India.

Design of the BMW X3 LWB
The BMW X3 LWB resembles the international version of the X3, incorporating design elements from the X1 and X2. The front features a prominent kidney grille with unique vertical and diagonal styling, flanked by LED headlights with L-shaped DRLs. The extended wheelbase, increased by 110 mm, gives the SUV a length of 4,865 mm and a width of 1,920 mm. The X3 25L xDrive comes with the M Sport Package, featuring body-coloured components and titanium bronze accents, while the X3 30L xDrive boasts a sportier look with more black surfaces.

Inside, the BMW X3 LWB stands out with its spaciousness, thanks to the extended wheelbase. The cabin is modern, featuring the BMW Curved Display, which includes a 14.9-inch infotainment panel and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The dashboard sports a BMW Interaction Bar, and the car is steered with a flat-bottom steering wheel. For added comfort, Vaganza sports seats are standard, available in three two-tone variations. Additional features include wireless smartphone charging and a panoramic sunroof with optional lighting.
Powertrain of the BMW X3 LWB
The BMW X3 LWB is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine available in two tuning states. The X3 25L xDrive variant produces 188 bhp and 310 Nm, while the X3 30L xDrive version generates 254 bhp and 400 Nm. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering power through an all-wheel drive system.
India Launch of the BMW X3 LWB
Although there is no confirmed information on the India launch of the BMW X3 LWB, it is likely considering the similar preferences of Indian and Chinese consumers, who often prefer chauffeur-driven cars. The successful introduction of the 5 Series LWB in India suggests that BMW might follow a similar strategy with the X3 LWB. Currently, India offers the X3 xDrive20d M Sport variant, priced at INR 72.50 lakh (ex-showroom), with a special Shadow Edition available for INR 74.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
