Powertrain and Performance of BMW M4 CS

The BMW M4 CS retains the same 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine from the M4 Competition but is tuned for higher output. The engine now produces 550hp, which is 20hp more than the M4 Competition. Despite the increased power, torque remains at 650Nm, with a wider torque band that peaks from 2,750rpm to 5,950rpm. This extended range ensures enhanced acceleration and performance, particularly in track scenarios.

Notably, BMW has added an upgraded cooling system and improved oil supply for enhanced endurance during longer track sessions. The M4 CS also benefits from stiffer engine mounts that contribute to better responsiveness and handling. Additionally, the titanium exhaust silencer and various carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) components make the CS 20kg lighter than the M4 Competition, further improving its agility.

BMW M4 CS vs Rivals

The BMW M4 CS faces tough competition in the Indian market. It rivals the Audi RS5, which, unlike the M4 CS, offers a four-door configuration. The car also takes on the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S e-Performance, which is expected to arrive soon in India. The M4 CS, however, stands out with its exclusive features and track-focused design, making it a top choice for performance enthusiasts.
