BMW Concept Skytop revealed at Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este

The BMW Group has once again demonstrated its flair for innovation and design excellence with the unveiling of the BMW Concept Skytop at this year’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este.

The BMW Concept Skytop is a stunning open two-seater that combines exceptional elegance with a sporty, athletic stance. Designed to resemble a meticulously crafted vehicle sculpture, it features a flowing, muscular exterior that exudes a sense of luxury and exclusivity. The warm, monochromatic colors of the interior and exterior blend exclusive materials with traditional craftsmanship, creating a truly unique and exotic design. If this concept came into production it may cost about $500,000 (Approx:4.20 Crore INR)

According to Adrian van Hooydonk, head of BMW Group Design, “The BMW Concept Skytop offers a combination of driving dynamics and elegance at the highest level, comparable to its historic ancestors, like the BMW Z8 or BMW 503.”

BMW Concept Skytop Exterior:

The exterior of the BMW Concept Skytop is characterized by its athletic proportions and organic body. Its taut, muscular surfaces are accentuated by precise lines that direct the vehicle’s volume towards the rear, giving it a sense of dynamic movement. Winglets discreetly integrated into the door shoulders replace conventional door handles, further enhancing its unique appearance.

From a bird’s eye perspective, the prominent, sweeping bonnet, the iconic BMW shark-nose design with illuminated kidney grille, and the retracted rear section all catch the eye. References to the legendary BMW Z8 roadster are evident, with a pronounced spline that extends from the bonnet through the interior to an aluminum trim on the tailgate, emphasizing the dynamic flow of the silhouette.

BMW Concept Skytop Interior:

The interior of the BMW Concept Skytop features leather-finished roll-over bars behind the two seats, combined with side fins on the B-pillar and a fully retractable rear window. The two removable roof parts, also finished in leather, can be stored in a special compartment in the luggage space, ensuring a smooth transition from interior to exterior, regardless of whether the roof is open or closed.

BMW Concept Skytop Powertrain details:

The BMW Concept Skytop is powered by the most powerful V8 engine in the BMW drivetrain portfolio, similar to the engine variants found in the legendary BMW Z8 roadster. This combination of elegant design, innovative technology, and powerful performance makes the BMW Concept Skytop a true standout in the world of automotive design.
