Hero Xpulse 210 Spotted Testing: The Next Evolution in Adventure Motorcycling

The Hero Xpulse lineup is set for a major overhaul with the introduction of the new Hero Xpulse 210. Multiple test mules have been spied over the past couple of years, and the latest sighting reveals a significant upgrade with the inclusion of the Karizma XMR’s 210cc engine. This marks the third engine variant spotted in an Xpulse test mule, signaling Hero’s dedication to enhancing the Xpulse series.

Key Highlights:

  • New 210cc engine from Karizma XMR
  • Potential replacement for the Xpulse 200 4V
  • Higher price expected compared to current model
  • Significant changes in chassis and styling
  • Possible launch by the end of 2024

Hero Xpulse 210: What We Know So Far

The shift from the current air/oil-cooled engine to the new liquid-cooled unit from the Karizma XMR is a significant upgrade. This change is expected to bring about considerable modifications to the chassis, as the two engines are vastly different. The Karizma’s engine is known for its peaky performance, delivering 25.5hp and 20.4Nm of torque, a noticeable improvement over the current Xpulse’s 19.1hp and 17.35Nm.

Despite the similar displacement, the Xpulse 210 is expected to serve as a replacement for the existing Xpulse 200 rather than an addition to the lineup. This strategy mirrors Royal Enfield’s move from the Himalayan 411 to the 450. The new engine’s characteristics, especially its high-revving nature, may require tuning adjustments to align with the Xpulse’s adventure-focused nature.

One of the distinct features observed in the spy images is the upswept exhaust, differentiating it from the side-mounted exhaust on the Karizma XMR. Additionally, the test mule appears to have a larger fuel tank, suggesting a potential increase from the current model’s 13-litre capacity. This could be a boon for long-distance adventurers.

The upcoming Xpulse 210 might also come with various accessories, as indicated by the hard panniers spotted on the test bike. This points to Hero possibly offering a range of homologated accessories upon launch.

Hero Xpulse 210 Launch and Price Expectations

While there is no official word yet, the Hero Xpulse 210 is anticipated to hit the market by the end of 2024. Given the upgrades and new features, it is expected to be priced higher than the current Xpulse 200 4V, which ranges between Rs 1.47 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh. This new model will mark the first significant generational change for the Xpulse series since its debut five years ago.

As we await the official announcement, the Hero Xpulse 210 promises to bring a new level of excitement and capability to the adventure motorcycling segment, continuing Hero’s tradition of offering rugged and versatile bikes for enthusiasts.
