Ather Energy starts manufacturing its new-gen electric scooter Rizta at the Hosur plant. Prices start at Rs 1.10 lakh—deliveries from July.
Ather Energy, the Bengaluru-based electric vehicle (EV) startup, has officially commenced the manufacturing of its new-generation electric scooter, Ather Rizta. This milestone was confirmed by Tarun Mehta, Co-founder & CEO of Ather Energy, through a recent social media post. The first unit of Rizta has rolled out from Ather’s state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Hosur, Tamil Nadu.
Ather Rizta Pricing and Availability
The Ather Rizta is competitively priced, starting at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the Rizta began on March 29, with a token amount set at Rs 999. The deliveries of this highly anticipated family e-scooter are expected to start from July onwards. Ather Energy is offering two trims of Rizta: Rizta S and Rizta Z. The Rizta Z is available in two variants, priced at Rs 1.24 lakh and Rs 1.44 lakh (both ex-showroom).
Ather Rizta Specifications
The Ather Rizta S is equipped with a 2.9 kWh battery, while the Rizta Z offers both the 2.9 kWh battery and a larger 3.7 kWh battery option. The 2.9 kWh variants are predicted to deliver an IDC range of 123 km, and the 3.7 kWh variant is expected to deliver an impressive 160 km range. The Rizta S is available in three monotone colors, whereas the Rizta Z offers a broader palette with seven colors, including three monotone and four dual-tone options.
While Ather has not yet disclosed the exact motor specifications of the Rizta, all variants can achieve a top speed of 80 kmph. The scooter features two riding modes: Zip and SmartEco. It also includes advanced ride-assist features such as MagicTwistTM, AutoHoldTM, and Reverse Mode, which were originally integrated into the Ather 450 series.
The top-spec Rizta Z, equipped with the 3.7 kWh battery, comes with a new 700W Ather Duo charger. Additionally, Rizta owners will have access to Ather’s extensive fast-charging network, which boasts over 1,800 fast-charging points.
Key Features
One of the standout features of the Rizta is its ample space, catering to both riders and storage needs. It offers a combined luggage capacity of 56 liters, including a 34-liter under-seat storage and a 22-liter frunk. For added convenience, the entire under-seat storage can be lifted as a single bag. Ather has also equipped the Rizta with the largest single-piece seat available in any two-wheeler in India, ensuring comfort for both the rider and the pillion.
