Srivaru Motors has unveiled the Prana 2.0, a premium all-electric motorcycle, at an event in Chennai, marking a significant milestone in the electric vehicle market in India. Priced starting at Rs. 2,55,150, the Prana 2.0 was introduced by Mohanraj Ramasamy, Founder and CEO of Srivaru Motors. The event underscored Tamil Nadu’s crucial role in the electric vehicle industry, contributing over 40% of the nation’s demand for electric vehicles.

Prana 2.0 Advanced Features , Battery Pack, Range and Top Speed

Yuvaraj Sankar, Director of Engineering at Srivaru Motors, described the Prana 2.0 as an “Engineering Marvel in Powertrain Safety.” The electric bike features a top speed of 123 km/h and an impressive range of 250 km, powered by a battery pack of 46,120 high-energy, long-life cells. The bike also offers four driving modes, each providing a unique ride experience in terms of vehicle performance and torque, including a reverse mode for convenient parking assistance.

The Prana 2.0 is designed with comfort and premium experience in mind. Its ergonomic seating design and driving configuration ensure a smooth and enjoyable ride. The bike also features an in-wheel motor with a detachable rim, which not only enhances serviceability but also reduces costs. Additionally, the integrated mobile application provides real-time tracking and diagnostic capabilities, setting a new benchmark in electric mobility.

A Step Towards the Future of Electric Mobility

During the launch, Mohanraj Ramasamy highlighted the booming electric vehicle market in India, particularly in Tamil Nadu. He noted that the state alone accounts for more than 40% of the country’s electric vehicle demand, indicating a rapidly growing market. He further emphasized that India’s motorcycle market, which reached over $25.6 billion in 2023, is expected to grow to $36.1 billion by 2027. By 2030, electric motorcycles are projected to represent approximately 50% of the market share, up from the current 3%, showcasing a tremendous growth opportunity.

 

Strategic Partnerships and Innovation

Srivaru Motors is collaborating with innovative entities such as iVP Semiconductor to develop the necessary electronics for Prana and future products. These strategic initiatives are aimed at creating a complete ecosystem that will drive the expansion of EV adoption and promote Indian innovation.
