Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP : What make is Special?

The Hypermotard 950 SP stands out with its premium Ohlins suspension, offering enhanced performance both at the front and rear. The front suspension features a 48mm USD fork, increasing wheel travel from 170mm to 185mm. The rear monoshock also improves wheel travel, now reaching 175mm from the previous 150mm.

Adding to its superior specifications, the SP is equipped with lighter Marchesini forged wheels, resulting in a 2 kg weight reduction. Despite this, the bike still weighs over 200 kg when the 14.5-liter fuel tank is full. The increased seat height of 890mm, due to the advanced suspension, might be a challenge for some riders.

The Hypermotard 950 SP retains the same chassis and braking system as its counterparts but features high-grip Pirelli Supercorsa SP tires instead of the Pirelli Rosso 3s found on the RVE model. The powerful 937cc L-twin engine, delivering 114hp and 96Nm, remains unchanged, providing the same aggressive performance and distinctive exhaust note.

Aesthetically, the SP is similar to the RVE, except for its unique SP graphics and different Marchesini wheel design. Priced at Rs 19.05 lakh, the Hypermotard 950 SP is Rs 3 lakh more expensive than the Hypermotard RVE. It ranks as the third most costly Ducati with the 937cc L-twin engine, surpassing the DesertX and Multistrada V2 S, with only the SuperSport S and DesertX Rally being pricier.

The Hypermotard 950 SP offers an ultra-exclusive option for enthusiasts looking for the pinnacle of Ducati’s Hypermotard range. Its introduction in India provides a unique opportunity for motorcycle aficionados to own a piece of Ducati’s finest engineering.
