Volvo EX30 gets two new variants the ‘Single Motor’ version and the ‘Single Motor Extended Range’. According to official WLTP data, the Single Motor version boasts a driving range of up to 209 miles (335 Km), while the Extended Range variant offers an impressive range of up to 295 miles(475 Km). Prices for these new offerings start at £32,850 (INR 35 Lakh Approx) for the Single Motor version and £37,050 (INR 40 Lakh Approx) for the Single Motor Extended Range. Although order books are now open, the first customer deliveries are not expected until early 2025. This timeline follows the initial release of the Volvo EX30, which began customer handovers at the start of this year.
Volvo EX30 Features
Volvo emphasizes the “generous” equipment package for the new Volvo EX30 Core variants, featuring amenities such as a rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, automatic LED headlights with active high beam, and 18-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, a 12.3-inch touchscreen system with Google built-in comes standard. The Single Motor Extended Range variant also includes a heat pump for the climate control system, which optimizes power usage and enhances the vehicle’s driving range.
The introduction of these new variants aligns with Volvo’s global strategy realignment, particularly in light of the recent discontinuation of the Volvo EX30 in the USA. The decision is likely influenced by American subsidy requirements that vehicles and batteries must be locally sourced, while Volvo’s primary production facilities are situated in Europe. However, the launch of a new Volvo EX30 variant in China underscores Volvo’s adaptive strategy to cater to different regional markets.
