Range Rover Sport EV will be using MLA platform.
The upcoming Range Rover Sport EV has been spotted testing without camouflage for the first time. This sneak peek gives us a clear view of the luxury electric SUV’s exterior.
Key Highlights:
- Minor styling changes compared to ICE version.
- Global debut expected later this year.
- Sleek exterior with familiar slim-LED headlamps.
- Same MLA platform as other JLR EVs.
- 800V charging hardware for fast charging.
Range Rover Sport EV Exterior Design
The Range Rover Sport EV shows subtle differences from its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. It retains the same slim-LED headlamps with Daytime Running Lamps and a sporty bumper. The grille, however, looks slightly different and appears unfinished, suggesting that Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) might introduce a revised design to distinguish it from the ICE version.
At the rear, the design is mostly unchanged, except for the absence of exhaust outlets, emphasizing its electric nature. The sleek wraparound LED tail-lights remain, connected by a panel likely to feature the Range Rover badge. While interior shots haven’t been revealed, the EV is expected to have a similar cabin to the ICE model, with minor updates.
Range Rover Sport EV: Platform, Battery, and Specifications
The Range Rover Sport EV will use the MLA platform, which also supports the upcoming Range Rover EV and existing combustion models. Although JLR has not disclosed specific performance details, they have assured that the EV will offer go-anywhere capability, similar to the V8-powered version. The battery specs are still under wraps, but all models will come with 800V charging hardware, allowing for charging speeds of up to 270kW.
Range Rover Sport EV Launch and Expected Price
The Range Rover Sport EV is set to make its global debut later this year, marking the second of six new JLR EVs planned for international markets by 2026. It is expected to be priced Rs. 2 Crore higher than the current ICE version, which starts at Rs 1.40 crore (ex-showroom).
