Despite ups and downs in the local market, Eicher Motors’ international sales stayed strong. They grew by 12%, selling 7,479 units compared to 6,666 units last year.
Eicher Motors, the parent company of Royal Enfield, shared its sales results for May on June 2, showcasing a strong performance even with market challenges.
Eicher Motors Commercial Vehicle Sales
Eicher’s commercial vehicle division, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), had a notable increase in sales:
- Total Sales: Up by 9.7%, reaching 6,901 units from 6,289 units last year.
- Domestic Sales: Increased by 8.2%, with 6,304 units sold compared to 5,826 units year-on-year (YoY).
- Exports: Jumped by 66%, selling 415 units compared to 250 units YoY.
Volvo Trucks & Buses
In contrast, the sales for Volvo Trucks & Buses dropped:
- Total Sales: Decreased by 14.6%, with 182 units sold compared to 213 units last year.
Motorcycle Sales
In the motorcycle segment, Eicher Motors experienced mixed results:
- Total Motorcycle Sales: Down by 8%, with 71,010 units sold compared to 77,461 units last year.
- Models up to 350cc: Decreased by 13%, with 59,852 units sold compared to 69,038 units YoY.
- Models over 350cc: Increased by 32%, with 11,158 units sold compared to 8,423 units YoY.
International Business
Eicher Motors’ international business showed resilience:
- International Sales: Increased by 12%, with 7,479 units sold compared to 6,666 units last year.
Financial Performance
The company also reported strong financial results for the quarter ending in March:
- Net Sales: Rose to Rs. 4,192.08 crore, a 9.42% increase from Rs. 3,831.35 crore last year.
- Net Profit: Surged by 31.66%, reaching Rs. 983.31 crore compared to Rs. 746.86 crore in March 2023.
Eicher Motors’ sales and financial performance highlights the company’s ability to navigate market challenges and continue its growth trajectory.
