Mahindra XUV 300 spotted testing on Indian road and expected to launch in 2025.
The Indian automotive industry’s sub-4-metre SUV segment is witnessing intense competition, and Mahindra is set to up the ante with a mid-life update for its popular XUV300. The compact SUV was recently spied undergoing testing ahead of its anticipated launch in the coming weeks, revealing some exciting new details.
XUV 300 Exterior Updates:
The spy shots captured base, mid, and top variants of the XUV300 facelift together, showcasing a few key changes. All variants feature turn indicators on the wing mirrors, adding a stylish touch to the exterior. While the front and rear designs were camouflaged, the variants were distinguishable by their wheels. The base and mid-level trims sported steel wheels with plastic wheel caps, while the top-end variant retained the diamond-cut alloy wheels from the current model.
XUV 300 Interior Features:
Inside, the XUV300 facelift is expected to borrow elements from the upcoming 2024 XUV400. One noticeable change is the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which adds a modern touch to the cabin. There are also speculations that the facelift could offer a fully digital instrument cluster, aligning it with competitors like the Tata Nexon and Kia Sonet.
XUV 300 Styling Overhaul:
The facelifted XUV300 is expected to undergo a significant styling overhaul, drawing inspiration from Mahindra’s BE line-up of electric SUVs slated for a 2025 release. This redesign could give the XUV300 a more futuristic and dynamic appearance, setting it apart in the crowded SUV market.
XUV 300 Powertrain Options:
Currently, the XUV300 is offered with a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine in two power outputs (110hp and 131hp) and a 1.5-litre diesel engine (117hp). The TurboSport variant (131hp) is available with a manual transmission, while the others offer both manual and AMT gearbox options. The facelift is expected to introduce a new torque converter automatic option for the 1.2-litre TGDi engine with the higher power output, providing customers with more choices in terms of drivetrain.
