China-based BYD has made a significant entrance into the Indian electric vehicle market with the launch of its third pure-electric offering, the BYD Seal. This sleek electric sedan is available in three variants: Dynamic, Premium, and Performance, catering to a range of preferences and needs. Prices for the BYD Seal start at Rs 41 lakh (ex-showroom), making it an attractive option in the premium electric car segment.
BYD Seal Exterior:
Design-wise, the BYD Seal boasts a four-door coupe-like body style, giving it a distinct and sporty look. The front of the car is characterized by sleek LED headlamps with unique V-shaped LED daytime running lights, while the rear features slim wraparound LED tail lights. The car rides on sporty dual-tone alloy wheels and comes with retractable door handles, adding to its modern appeal.
BYD Seal Interior:
Step inside the BYD Seal, and you’ll find a luxurious and tech-packed interior. The car is equipped with a large 15.6-inch central touchscreen infotainment system, providing access to a range of entertainment and connectivity features. The 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster offers crisp and clear readouts, while the head-up display keeps essential information in the driver’s line of sight. The top-of-the-line ‘Performance’ variant delivers exhilarating performance with dual electric motors generating a combined output of 523 BHP and 670 Nm of torque. This variant is equipped with torque vectoring and adaptive dampers, enhancing its handling capabilities. The ‘Performance’ variant also comes with an 82.56 kWh battery pack, offering a range of 580 km (NEDC).
All variants of the BYD Seal support 7 kW AC fast charging, with the Dynamic trim capable of charging at speeds up to 110 kW DC, while the higher variants support up to 150 kW DC fast charging, allowing for quick and convenient charging options.
In terms of dimensions, the BYD Seal measures 4,800 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, 1,460 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,920 mm, providing ample space for passengers and luggage.
