Kia uncovered the 2025 Kia K4 the stylish compact SUV at New York International Auto Show.
Kia has taken the wraps off its latest offering, the 2025 K4, signaling the retirement of the popular Forte model. Scheduled for a full global debut at the upcoming New York auto show on March 27, the K4 introduces Kia’s new design philosophy, “Opposites United,” seen previously on the Carnival minivan and Sorento SUV.

The 2025 K4 boasts a striking exterior design, featuring T-shaped headlights, a thin rectangular grille, and a distinctive crease that adds character to its profile. The sloping fastback-style roofline and unique D-pillar design give it a sporty yet elegant appearance, reminiscent of its mid-size sibling, the K5 sedan. At the rear, the L-shaped taillights span the width of the trunk, adding to its modern appeal.

Inside, the K4 offers a clean and modern cabin, highlighted by a large display that combines the gauge cluster and infotainment system. A horizontal chrome trim piece houses the climate control vents, while physical buttons for essential functions like “Home” and “Map” remain present. The inclusion of an old-school physical gear selector adds a touch of nostalgia to the otherwise futuristic interior.
Powertrain Options
While no specific technical details have been released yet, it is expected that the K4 will offer similar powertrains to the outgoing Forte. This includes a choice between a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter inline-four and a turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four. Kia may also introduce a hybrid variant to compete with rivals like the Toyota Corolla Hybrid and upcoming Honda Civic Hybrid. Additionally, an electric variant called the EV4 could join the lineup in the future.
